There are two nights to go before the grand finale of the show that has featured budding romances, catfights, multiple entries and exits. Yet to many of us viewers something doesn’t quite add up. Bigg Boss Season Two sparked off one suspicion too many.
The PR machinery that went behind it is one of the worst-ever experienced by HT Café. The spokeswoman would make all sorts of excuses to sweep our questions under the carpet and would keep back information very unprofessionally.
Besides that, there are some aspects of the show that we just couldn’t digest: Surprise surprise: Jade Goody’s arrival was kept under wraps till a day before the show was officially launched. Goody landed in Mumbai on August 16.
Three days later, the Briton ran out of the confession room following a call from her doctor in London, and burst into a flood of tears.
She had cervical cancer. And Goody who had reduced Shilpa Shetty to tears left the House as abruptly as she entered it. She promised to return if her health was okay but there has been no news since.
Woh saat din:
Sanjay Nirupam wanted only a seven-day stay at the House for the ‘experience’. He got it. On August 22, exactly a week since he had stepped in through the gates to be welcomed by Rahul Mahajan, the politician was back on his rounds.
Raja Chaudhary who was pitted against him was, at that stage, hugely unpopular following his break-up with the Kasauti… star Shweta Tiwari.
Yet, Rajaji bagged bag more votes than netaji. If that’s the way it really is, Nirupam has reason to be worried with elections around the corner. But he seems pretty chilled out.
Six.. and still there:
In 13 weeks, Rahul Mahajan has been nominated for eviction six times. Twice, the votes were declared null and void. Once, in the sixth week, and again in the Diwali week. Oh?
Great escape:
On Saturday, November 15, the four surviving inmates, Chaudhary, Mahajan, Zulfi Syed and Ashutosh Kaushik, attempted a breakout. No one stopped them as they dithered on the wall. A news channel caught them wandering around the Lonavla market (the channel guys were there so conveniently) but the footage was not aired on the show. One just saw the foursome back in the house, regretting their getaway and being fed dinner.
So long:
A day later, on Tuesday, Rahul Mahajan refused to apologise and demanded to be allowed to quit. He was granted permission, and Mahajan walked out.
A couple of hours later, smses from the channel’s PR were circulating about a press conference he had called at Lonavla. There was talk that he would say “sorry” and would be accepted back with open arms. Now that would be a hat-trick!
